Through this prayer, we plead for healing for those who are unwell, financial support for the poor, and peace and wellness for Israel and all of humankind. Liska has historically been an important place in Jewish life, especially because it was where the Liska Rebbe established a remarkable synagogue, which was one of the largest in Europe then. Jewish communities keep the memory of the town and the tzadik alive, as many make pilgrimages here to seek blessings in the spirit of the Kivrei Tzadikim tradition.

Rebbe Hershele Lisker (רבי הערשעלע ליסקער), also known as Zvi Hirsh Friedmann (צבי הירש פרידמאן) and the esteemed author of Ach Pri Tevu'ah (אך פרי תבואה), was one of the prominent Hasidic leaders whose teachings still resonate with his followers today. The Rebbe was a disciple of the famous Teitelbaum Moshe zt"l (משה טייטלבוים זצ״ל), also known as the Yismach Moshe (ישמח משה), from whom he gained deep Torah knowledge and chassidic wisdom. The enduring disciple relationship is vibrant in Hasidic communities, notably among Satmar adherents, who pay tribute to the memories of Teitelbaum and Rebbe Hershele Lisker.
